Executive Director of the Superannuated Teachers of Saskatchewan
I have had the pleasure to know and work with Kevin for nearly 15 years. Kevin is level headed, capable, knowledgeable and is a strong supporter of publicly funded education. Kevin has a unique capacity to remain resolute and firm in his beliefs and at the same time develops and nurtures relationships that are so important in serving the public. Kevin has a strong working knowledge of governance systems and has a clear vision of what good governance requires. Kevin would be a tremendous asset to the Saskatoon Public School Board and I heartily endorse his bid for election in Ward 9.
When I think of who would best represent me and other parents as a trustee for the Saskatoon Public School division, the answer is Kevin Schmidt. Kevin taught me high school Chemistry and was extremely committed to providing engaging and authentic learning opportunities to all students. His dedication to students and to building a thriving educational community were evident through his work as our Student Representative Council advisor. He always went above and beyond what was required and I know the same will be true for his constituents. His passion for public education was instrumental in my decision to become a high school teacher. Kevin Schmidt is the strong voice that we need to engage our community and drive change for education in Saskatoon.

I have known Kevin Schmidt for over twenty years, first as a dedicated and caring classroom teacher and then as a graduate student in the College of Education, University of Saskatchewan. More recently, he was a fellow staff member at the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation where he was a member of the senior administrative staff and was a passionate advocate for public education.
Through his various roles, Kevin has gained extensive knowledge of the K-12 education system in Saskatchewan and of the roles and responsibilities of school divisions and trustees. He has a deep understanding of the diverse needs of Saskatchewan students and is committed to working for the betterment of the system.
Because of his integrity, dedication, experience and advocacy for the needs of students and schools, he would make an excellent trustee for the Saskatoon School Division.
Past Board Chair of SPSD and Retired Farmers
Sharon and I are proud to endorse Kevin Schmidt for our Saskatoon Public School Board Trustee in Ward 9. Thanks to so many of my friends in our Ward for indicating that you will vote for Kevin! Coming from 22 years of classroom experience and 12 years of employment with the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation (STF) as a senior bargaining support person, we feel he has the “right stuff” to represent parents, students, teachers and public education as a trustee. Kevin has a masters degree in educational administration and strong business skills suitable for developing policy and budgets for an organization of 2,500 employees and anearly two-hundred-million-dollar budget. He is very concerned about the government failures in funding for quality education and has the diplomatic skills to stand up for improved funding. As someone who served for 16 years as trustee or chair of the Saskatoon Public School Board, I feel strongly that Kevin is the right person to represent us. Regards; Dan Danielson BA, BEd, PGD, MEd.
